Fontaine is brimming with fanciful new features, along with a cast of vibrant characters – one of which is Genshin Impact’s Chevreuse. She’s the Righteous Enforcer of the Law and captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol in Fontaine. Here’s what we can confirm about the character.

Genshin Impact Chevreuse release date
Chevreuse releases in the second half of the 4.3 update, alongside Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya reruns in early January 2024.
What do we know about Genshin Impact Chevreuse’s build?
Chevreuse is confirmed to be a four-star pyro user, wielding a polearm – though her musket shows up in her animations as Genshin Impact’s Mika‘s crossbow does.
She looks to be a great support, focusing on the overload reaction between pyro and electro. Her kit offers significant buffs to herself and her team, along with some healing, too.
What are the best weapons for Chevreuse?
In the 4.3 special program, we see Chevreuse equipped with a Deathmatch polearm. Whether this is the best fit for her kit, we’re yet to find out.
What are the best artifacts for Chevreuse?
As a pyro user, Chevreuse may benefit from artifact sets such as Crimson Witch of Flames. Ahead of her release, we can’t say for certain, but we can also recommend a healing bonus artifact and a two-piece healing bonus set like Maiden Beloved or Ocean Hued Clam, as part of her kit allows her to heal teammates.
What are the best Genshin Impact Chevreuse team comps?
Chevreuse gives significant boots to teammates when setting off the overloaded reaction, so while we can’t recommend specifics just yet, we suggest you pair her with another pyro teammate, and two electro to capitalize on the reaction.
An overload team with Cyno, Raiden, Klee, Yanfei, or Keqing as the DPS paired with Fischl, Beidou, or Kuki Shinobu for support alongside Chevreuse could work wonders. We’re excited to find out.
What are Chevreuse’s abilities?
While Chevreuse is in your party, if your party contains at least one other pyro and electro character, triggering the overloaded reaction causes the opponent’s pyro and electro resistance to decrease. Also, Chevreuse’s passive skill decreases the stamina consumed while sprinting.
Skill | Effect |
Normal attack | Chevreuse hits opponents with her polearm, dealing physical damage |
Elemental skill: Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire | Chevreuse quickly shoulders her musket and fires at opponents, dealing AoE pyro damage. You can hold the skill button to enter aiming mode, locking onto targets for a precise shot. Holding this skill also grants an attack buff to all electro and pyro party members. For a short duration after firing a shot, Chevreuse restores HP to the active character on the field |
Elemental burst | Chevreuse fires an explosive grenade from her musket that splits into secondary explosive shells on impact. These then explode, dealing pyro damage |
Who is Genshin Impact’s Chevreuse?
Chevreuse appears to be a character known by some NPCs and playable units already. Genshin Impact’s Freminet is the only one with a voice line about her, but you can speak to Riqueti – an NPC – about her, too.
Turns out that Chevreuse is the Captain of the special security and surveillance patrol. While this isn’t introduced in the game just yet, Riqueti’s statement reveals that Chevreuse is involved with the use of Fontaine’s gardemeks in the patrol. She’s also known to shop at the Beaumont Workshop – Fontaine’s Blacksmith, located in the main city.
By the way – if you’re a Genshin Impact leaks aficionado, then you may remember the names Sert and Sertice. Turns out, that’s Chevreuse.
