Ever since Brock Purdy took over for Jimmy Garoppolo as the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, there’s been a lot of debate about whether the Iowa State product is truly a great player at his position or if he’s a product of Kyle Shanahan’s system in the Bay Area.
Even though this debate was unanswered after the 49ers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in last season’s NFC Championship Game, Purdy has quieted a lot of his critics this season, as he’s taken his game to another level and is currently the favorite to win NFL MVP, which is remarkable, to say the least.
Ahead of a potential Super Bowl preview against the Baltimore Ravens, where Purdy will once again be put to the test as the team’s leader under center, former superstar quarterback Michael Vick was asked by another former NFL quarterback in Robert Griffin III if the 49ers starting quarterback is a game manager.
Vick immediately dismissed the notion that Purdy is a game manager, as he believes that the rising star is a game changer for San Francisco via Griffin’s Twitter account.

Griffin used the comparison to Garoppolo, who both former quarterbacks believe was a game manager for the 49ers, but things have definitely changed since Shanahan handed the ball over to the youngster.
The real question now is whether Purdy can lead this team to a Super Bowl title, with the 49ers expected to be the team to beat once the NFL playoffs get underway in the coming weeks.
