There has been a lot of talk about the Kansas City Chiefs and their lack of production from wide receivers.
Outside of Rashee Rice, no wide receiver has been a consistent contributor to their offense, and Travis Kelce can’t carry all of the load of the passing game on his own.
Notably, Kadarius Toney has also hurt the team in back-to-back weeks, first with his now-infamous offsides penalty and then by letting yet another pass slip right through his fingers and leading to an interception.
Toney has faced some harsh criticism over the past couple of weeks.
However, HC Andy Reid isn’t down on him.
Following his team’s win over the New England Patriots, the veteran coach claimed that Toney is still quite young, so it’s not like he’s a veteran who’s been there for a long time.
Reid said he still believes in the former New York Giants wideout, echoing the same sentiment that Kelce and Patrick Mahomes shared earlier in the week.
Toney failed to establish himself in the Big Apple despite entering the league as a first-round pick.
The University of Florida product then made an immediate impact as soon as he arrived at Arrowhead Stadium, getting into heated altercations on social media with Giants fans and earning a bit of a reputation on social media.
He’s failed to live up to the expectations this season and has been far from a fan favorite as well.
But the talent is clearly there, and he can still help the team in the most crucial stretch of the season.
