A 15-year-old boy riding a moped was killed when he collided with a Jeep in uptown Manhattan Thursday afternoon, police said.
The teen was thrown from the two-wheeler after the SUV struck him near West 185 Street and Nicholas Avenue in Washington Heights around 1:30 p.m., according to authorities.

He suffered a head injury and was unconscious in the aftermath, cops said.
The young rider was rushed to Harlem Hospital and later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and no criminality is suspected at this time, the NYPD said Thursday evening.
Photos from the scene showed damage to the front driver’s side of the SUV and a moped lying on the ground at a crosswalk.
The probe by the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
