Following a surprisingly productive 2022 season, New York Giants QB Daniel Jones signed a lucrative new contract heading in the offseason. But three games into 2023, the team might have buyer’s remorse. On Thursday night, Jones look completely overwhelmed against vaunted the San Francisco 49ers defense, throwing for just 137 yards and no TDs in a 30-12 loss. After the game, an anonymous Niners defender did not hold back on his criticism. “The dude did not want to throw the ball. Early on, you could tell it wasn’t gonna happen. Everything was a checkdown. At that point, we knew what time it was.” Things don’t get any easier for Big Blue, as they face Seattle, Miami and Buffalo over the next three weeks. If Jones and crew don’t get it together soon, this could be a lost season before the team even reaches its midpoint.
