Brad Fittler has thrown up a surprise prediction for his Clive Churchill medalist.
Speaking on Wide World of Sports’ Freddy and the Eighth, both Fittler and Andrew Johns predicted a Panthers-Broncos grand final.
But instead of tipping a Reece Walsh, Nathan Cleary or a Dylan Edwards as his man of the match in the big dance, Fittler said the standout would come from the Panthers’ pack.
“Liam Martin does the work. He’s aggressive, so he stands out and then he can come up with super plays,” he said.
“He can score tries off kicks … he does things that stand out, but then he’s aggressive and does his job.
Martin played his 100th NRL game in the Panthers loss to the Eels on Thursday night.
“A hundred games played at full throttle,” Fittler said.
