After being traded to the Denver Broncos last season, superstar quarterback Russell Wilson headed into a downward spiral as he appeared to have lost a step or two and looked like he might be done as an elite player in the NFL.
Wilson looked nothing like the dominant quarterback of old that won a Super Bowl title with the Seattle Seahawks, and as a result, the Broncos limped to a last-place finish in the AFC West division with a record of 5-12.
Fortunately for Wilson, the Broncos hadn’t lost complete faith in the future Hall of Famer, as they chose to make some changes to the team, namely the coaching staff.
The team was able to convince Sean Payton to resume his coaching career in the NFL and help right the ship in Denver, which he may already be on track to do, especially when it comes to resurrecting Wilson’s career.
Payton recently spoke with Kay Adams about Wilson and his desire to get better while also wanting to know as much as he can about New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees.
Sean Payton told me that Russell Wilson asks a lot of questions about Drew Brees..

One thing that Payton said that sticks out more than anything during his conversation with Adams is that Wilson “really, really wants to please,” which means he’s really bought in for the 2023 season.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Broncos this season, as Wilson’s job is definitely on the line.
If Wilson can’t get back to his winning ways, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the team will try to move him after the upcoming season.
