The Minnesota Timberwolves are the best team in the Western Conference and for the first time in years, they have a legitimate chance of reaching the NBA Finals.
In order to keep the success coming, the Timberwolves have just agreed to a two-year, $21 million extension with Mike Conley, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
For the Timberwolves, that will be money well spent.

For the last season-and-a-half, Conley has averaged 11.7 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists for the Timberwolves.
This season, he has started in all 50 games and is playing for 28.9 minutes per game.
$21 million for two years isn’t that much money to an NBA team and it’ll guarantee that Conley can continue contributing to the team and filling the much-needed role of point guard.
Conley was set to hit free agency this summer so Minnesota wanted to move before the offseason in order to keep him on board.
Although they were able to sign Conley to an inexpensive contract, the Timberwolves have some other hefty paydays coming for players like Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edward, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, and others.
That means that the team will either be getting rid of some of their salaries or paying a steep tax next year.
The Timberwolves have a few months to think about that and their choices will depend on how well they do in the postseason.
Right now, they are poised to possibly push all the way to the Western Conference Finals and beyond.
In the years before his time with the Timberwolves, Conley was a crucial part of both the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz.
He is now one of the most reliable veterans in the league.
