He may not have been wearing a number, but there was a familiar face on the ice when the Penguins took their morning skate on Saturday.
His name? Jaromir Jagr.
The 52-year-old, who is in Pittsburgh to have his No. 68 retired by the franchise, went for a skate with his old team, where he played 11 of 24 NHL seasons.
He will be honoured on Sunday with a pre-game ceremony when the Penguins take on the Los Angeles Kings at PPG Paints Arena.
Jagr continues to play professional hockey for the team he owns in his native Czechia. He put up 439 goals and 1,079 points in 806 regular-season games with the Penguins from 1990 to 2001. He sits fifth in franchise history in games played, and ranks fourth in goals, assists and points.
