The Baltimore Ravens had their best chance to get back to the Super Bowl in the Lamar Jackson era.
They crushed winning teams all season long, winning by a big margin and making a significant statement.
They had the best defense, the best rushing attack, and the soon-to-be MVP in their ranks, not to mention a first-round BYE and home-field advantage.
That’s why Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe believes it’s about time people start holding him accountable.
Talking to Chad Johnson on their Nightcap show, the legendary tight end claimed that Jackson had everything going on for him, including the best set of receivers he’s ever had, so he should be criticized for underachieving.
“Lamar won his second MVP. But at what point in time do we start holding him accountable and saying that’s underachieving?” Sharpe said.

He also stated that some players are ‘dove hunting’ to state they win big games, but Patrick Mahomes has already proved that he’s a big-game quarterback.
Jackson was one vote away from being a unanimous MVP again, and he left a lot to be desired when it mattered the most — again.
Of course, it’s unfair to put all the blame on him, as Todd Monken also made some questionable decisions on offense that day.
The Ravens will be back in contention next year, and they should be one of the best teams in the AFC for years to come.
However, the Conference won’t get any easier.
Joe Burrow, Deshaun Watson, and Aaron Rodgers will be back to full strength, the Pittsburgh Steelers will get a better quarterback, and Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
