The Allan Border Medal finalists have been announced!
Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and Mitch Marsh have all been nominated for the Allan Border Medal.
Steve Smith could stand alone at the end of tonight if he takes home the honour, becoming the first ever men’s player to win five Allan Border Medals, with the new Test opener currently sitting equal with Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting.
”Winning the World Cup was probably number one, keeping them (India) quiet,” Smith said on Fox.
“We knew 2023 was going to be a big year and one by one, we basically ticked them off,” Cummins said on Fox.
Meantime, Marsh has reflected on his successful year, including putting his feet up on the World Cup trophy!
“It’s been a lot of fun the last 12 months,” Marsh said.
“You’ve got Patty (Cummins) to thank for that one (the World Cup picture)!”
It was a tight race for the top three, with Travis Head and Usman Khawaja missing out!
