Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is expected to remain with the team this season and is not looking to waive his no-trade clause, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Cousins has been the subject of trade speculation as the Vikings have gotten off to a slow start. The team is 1-4 to open the season, despite Cousins tossing a league-best 13 touchdowns. He has also thrown for 1498 yards and four interceptions while completing 67.2 per cent of his passes.
The 35-year-old quarterback has spent the last six seasons in Minnesota, leading the team to a 47-37-1 record and two playoff appearances.
With his contract set to void at the end of the 2023-24 season, Cousins can become a free agent heading into the off-season.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Cousins was asked about the possibility of a trade this week.
“I’m just very focused on the Bears and going 1-0 this week,” he said. “Anything else is just not worth my time or energy or attention.”
Cousins will be missing his top target as the Vikings try to turn their season around — star receiver Justin Jefferson is expected to be out four to six weeks after being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury Wednesday.
Minnesota is set to face the Chicago Bears (1-4) on Sunday — its first game against an NFC North opponent this season.
