The long-awaited Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1, which includes Metal Gear Solid 1-3 and a few non-mainline titles, is launching soon on Nintendo Switch and other platforms, which is great. However, Konami has updated its targeted resolution and framerate comparison chart, and it is the cause of some concern. Even if you own a state-of-the-art gaming PC, the highest resolution you are going to be able to achieve is 1080p and 60fps. Even more concerning is the note that accompanies the chart, stating that “Highest possible variable frame rate achievable. Certain factors such as large amounts of effects during gameplay/cutscenes may cause framerate drops”, which does not sound particularly encouraging. The chart states that the Nintendo Switch version of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is 1080p docked and 720p handheld and is 30fps in both modes.
