After what has felt like an eternity, the NFL is officially back.
The New York Jets and Cleveland Browns completed the Hall of Fame game, an annual tradition in the league.
Although this game doesn’t mean anything for the regular season standings, it was filled with more anticipation than usual.
Zach Wilson was the Jets’ starting quarterback in this game, given he’ll be Aaron Rodgers’ backup for the 2023 season.
Wilson showed his arm strength during this game, throwing a 57-yard pass to Malik Taylor.
When asked about this pass in the postgame press conference, Wilson said, “Great call by Aaron Rodgers,” shared via Bleacher Report.

Wilson revealed that Rodgers was the mastermind behind this play call, as he gave the idea to new OC, Nathaniel Hackett.
Throughout training camp, reports have emerged about the alleged chemistry between Rodgers and Wilson.
Although Rodgers is taking over the starting role, it appears that he’s been a mentor to Wilson throughout camp.
These reports are another reason that many Jets fans are excited to have Rodgers in the building.
He recently took a $35 million pay cut to help the organization, and helping a young quarterback isn’t necessarily something he’s been known for in the past.
Wilson’s confidence seems to be at an all-time high, with a lot of thanks heading Rodgers’ way.
He’ll have an opportunity to continue to grow as a football player as long as he’s under Rodgers.
Will this result in Wilson getting a chance at a starting role in the NFL?
