The New York Yankees are one team when Aaron Judge plays and another one when he doesn’t.
When he is in the lineup, the offense is much more productive and dangerous.
Without him, they have really struggled to produce runs.
Things have gotten so bad that the Yankees fired their hitting coach, Dillon Lawson, a few days ago.
Every other team in the AL East has scored more runs than them.
Judge is currently out with a toe injury.
He has been on the shelf since June 3.
In recent hours, a rumor saying that he would be returning right after the All-Star break started to circulate around the web.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman clarified those rumors and offered more details about Judge’s rehab.
“Brian Cashman, responding to the rumor that Judge will activated ‘right after’ the break, says there’s no timetable for that and that he has more steps to take – running the bases, rehab games, etc. Judge will be back at some point in the second half, he said,” Laura Albanese of Newsday tweeted.

Well, there you have it: the rumor is false.
The Yankees are not going to risk Judge’s ailing toe by bringing him back earlier than they should.
And, as Cashman states, there are still steps he needs to complete in his rehab.
So far, he has been doing some light throwing and hitting off a tee.
He will need to run the bases and then go on a rehab assignment.
Pain could be tolerable while hitting, but running will be the real test.
In any case, Judge still looks like he is weeks away.
