Ubisoft has revealed its brand-new Assassin’s Creed game for mobile devices, through its Ubisoft Forward showcase. Ubisoft head East to China in their newest open-world mobile RPG, which is currently revealed to be titled “Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade“. The game is set to be one of three new titles to be a part of the Netflix games library as well.
At this moment in time, very little is known about this mysterious “Project Jade”. When more information is revealed, fans of the age-old franchise will be duly updated.
Explore Ancient China in the new Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade
Fans will be able to freely explore Ancient China in the mobile Assassin’s Creed, which has been specifically optimised for touch-screen controls. “For the first time in our open-world games, you can create your own character”, said Marc-Alexis Côté, the executive producer of the franchise. “You’ll get the chance to do things like parkour atop the Great Wall of China, sneak through bustling cities, engage in intense combat, and discover the secrets and vastness of ancient China.”
It seems like players will be getting a classic AAA Assassin’s Creed experience packed with stealth, action and exploration, all of which will fit right onto handheld devices. Ubisoft has also released a trailer for the game. This definitely looks like one to watch here in the mobile gaming industry.
Ubisoft had partnered with Netflix for 3 new mobile games
Alongside Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, there will be two other mobile games released on the Netflix subscription service. One will be a sequel to 2014’s “Valient Hearts: The Great War”, which is expected to release on January 2023. The other will be another sequel of an action role-playing game titled “The Mystery Quest“, scheduled to roll out next year.
Netflix has promised that these games will not include in-app purchases or ads, although it looks likely these games will be exclusive to Netflix. Only those with a Netflix subscription can get their hands on these when they release, including the new Assassin’s Creed game. Whether Ubisoft has other plans is unknown, however. The Assassin’s Creed game is also accompanied by a live-action TV series of the same franchise. This was first revealed back in 2020.
